Cookies and storage

This document is a review draft and is not yet in force. You are not being asked to accept it.

What is stored on your device

Cookies and similar browser storage can support the service even when you do not have an account.

  • Reading view: edp_view in local storage remembers a reading view you choose. It has no automatic expiry and remains until replaced or cleared. Older versions may have stored edp_reading.
  • Private preferences link: edp_t in session storage keeps your link token in the current tab so you can manage your briefing. Links expire on the server after 60 days. Use “Close private session” on the preferences page on shared devices.
  • Account access: Base44's authentication integration can use browser storage for sign-in tokens. These are separate from briefing preferences. Sign out and clear site data on shared devices.

The deployed platform also includes a navigation-logging integration. This review does not describe it as anonymous or assume that it is exempt from consent rules. The final storage notice depends on verifying the deployed configuration.

Social sharing controls are links, not embedded social feeds. The destination platform may use its own storage after you open it.

Your controls

This stops future reading-view storage and removes saved reading preferences. A separate edp_remember_reading preference stores your objection until you change it or clear site data. It does not unsubscribe you, erase your account or clear platform authentication. Use your browser settings to review or remove other site data. Blocking essential storage may affect sign-in; it should not be necessary to subscribe simply to read publications.
